By creating an account or using the Unravel application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Unravel. Please read them carefully.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Unravel. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We enforce this requirement through a mandatory date-of-birth gate at signup.
If we determine that a user is under 18, we will immediately suspend and delete their account. Providing a false date of birth to circumvent this requirement is a violation of these Terms and may constitute fraud.
Unravel is not a mental health service, crisis intervention service, or medical provider. The App is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, counselling, or emergency services.

Use of Unravel does not create a therapeutic, medical, or professional relationship of any kind.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You retain ownership of the content you create in Unravel, including vent posts and journal entries. By submitting content to the App, you grant Unravel a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content for the purpose of providing the service.
Unravel allows you to optionally share posts publicly. You choose whether each post is private or public. Once a post is made public, other users may see it. You may change a post back to private at any time.
You agree not to post content that:
Unravel provides a content reporting system that allows users to flag posts that violate these Terms. We will review reported content and may remove it if it is found to be in violation of our community standards.
Users who repeatedly post prohibited content, or who post content that poses a risk of harm to others, will have their accounts suspended or permanently removed.
Unravel uses automated keyword detection to identify content that may indicate a user is in distress. When such content is detected, the App will display crisis support resources. This is a precautionary feature and does not constitute mental health monitoring, counselling, or crisis intervention.
You acknowledge that by using Unravel, you may choose to share sensitive personal information, including emotional disclosures and mental health-related content. You do so voluntarily. We handle this data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
All intellectual property in the Unravel application — including design, code, branding, and features — belongs to Unravel. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the App without prior written consent.
Unravel is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no representations regarding the accuracy or completeness of any content on the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unravel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages arising from emotional distress, reliance on user-generated content, or App downtime.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Unravel and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms, you are under 18 years of age, or your continued use poses a risk to other users or the platform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Brunswick, Canada.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Your continued use of Unravel after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
