Unravel ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Unravel mobile application.
Unravel is an emotional wellness app designed to help users express and process their feelings. Because of the nature of our service, we take the privacy of your data — including sensitive personal and emotional data — very seriously.

Unravel is strictly intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We require all users to provide their date of birth during account creation. Users who do not meet the minimum age requirement will be denied access to the application.
If we discover that a user under 18 has accessed the platform, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.
We explicitly recognize that vent posts, journal entries, and emotional disclosures constitute sensitive personal data under applicable privacy legislation, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
This data is treated with the highest level of care and is not used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with analytics providers in identifiable form.
Unravel uses automated keyword detection to identify posts or journal entries that may indicate a user is in emotional distress or crisis. When such content is detected, the app will surface crisis support resources, including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
This detection is designed to connect users with help. We may log a timestamped record that a crisis resource was surfaced to a user session, but we do not store or transmit the specific content that triggered the detection to any third party.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:
We use Firebase (provided by Google) for user authentication, database storage, and app infrastructure. Firebase may collect technical and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase is bound by Google's data processing terms.
Unravel is built using FlutterFlow, a no-code development platform. FlutterFlow may have access to application structure and technical data. FlutterFlow is governed by its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
We may disclose your data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Unravel users or the public.
Unravel allows users to optionally share posts publicly. If you choose to make a post public, it will be visible to other users of the platform. You may make a post private at any time. We do not share public posts with external platforms or third parties.
Public posts remain subject to our community standards and content reporting system. Any post found to violate our Terms of Service may be removed.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules that restrict data access to authenticated and age-verified users only, and regular review of access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and applicable authorities as required by law.
Unravel is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect data from, users under the age of 18. We maintain a hard age gate at the point of account creation. If you believe a minor has accessed the platform, please contact us immediately at elmocarrotarrow@gmail.com and we will take prompt action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. Your continued use of Unravel after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
